The Best Exercises for Improving Your Clients Shoulder Range of Motion and the One Thing You Need to Have Your Clients Stop Doing

Welcome to the fourth edition of Integrative Movement Insider™ for 2019.

Jenice and I hope your week is off to a great start!

We just got back from Korea sharing the Integrative Movement System™ Approach to Posture and Movement with an amazing group of chiropractors, physical therapists, and fitness professionals.

On Days 2 and 3 of The Integrative Corrective Exercise Instructor™ Certification Program, we covered assessment and corrective exercises for the shoulder complex.

Several individuals had shoulder problems and we shared with the group how to properly assess the shoulder.

This is why assessment is so important…

Because if you don’t know how to properly assess the shoulder, then you don’t know which exercises are best for your client and which exercises can actually cause your client shoulder problems.

Understanding how to properly assess the shoulder will allow you to identify a common cause of your client’s shoulder tightness.

Now, before I share with you the best   exercises for the shoulder, there is one   important thing you must do first to reduce   your client’s chronic shoulder tightness.

Now, before I share with you the best   exercises for the shoulder, there is one   important thing you must do first to reduce   your client’s chronic shoulder tightness.

That one thing is…

Stop having your clients squeeze their shoulders down and back!

Squeezing the shoulders down and back disrupt the optimal position and movement of the shoulder blades…

Squeezing the shoulders down and back will increase compression upon the upper rib cage and increase neck tension and ultimately contribute to shoulder tightness…

Squeezing the shoulders down and back directly lead to me developing rotator cuff tears and labral tears in both shoulders because the scapula must move out and around the rib cage during exercise and everyday life.

By getting your clients to stop squeezing down and back, you will eliminate one of the most common and overlooked causes of shoulder and neck tightness!

I’ll be on Facebook Live tomorrow, Wednesday at 2:00pm CST sharing an easy shoulder assessment as well as one of the best corrective exercises we have found for helping our clients eliminate tight shoulders.

We are sharing this information with you so that you can help your current clients that present with shoulder issues and become the go-to resource for all those individuals experiencing chronic shoulder problems.

And if you’re not on Facebook no worries…

…all our videos are uploaded onto our website (The Institute for Integrative Health and Fitness Education – www.iihfe.com) and YouTube channel (Fitness Education Seminars)

You can also check out our Instagram page at @iifhe as we send out tons of free video content and motivation there as well…

…in fact, I’ve been sharing shoulder exercises this entire month on our Instagram page.

See you tomorrow!
